Morgan ... a goffin cockatoo

Belongs to ... Kathy

Morgan is a Goffins Cockatoo who was hatched on April 25, 2005.

She was bought from a local pet store when her mom fell in love with her at first sight. She is a very sweet girl who loves to dance and play and spend a lot of time with her humans, especially her mom. In fact, the human kids have come to realize that most of the time, they are merely her method of transportation to mom since she can not fly.

She loves her fruits and vegetables - to eat them and to throw them. She is very smart, and learned how to wave "HI" in one day with clicker training. She likes to undo things that have a screw function and untie things. No hanging toys are safe from her. She also thinks that she is the top bird of the house and we let her believe that she is.

Her best friend is her birdie sister, Azzie the Hawkhead. They love each other very much. Last summer, our family went on holidays and left her with a good sitter. To make things easier for the sitter, her wings were clipped 3 weeks prior to the sitter. The combination of the two events were too much for her sensitive feelings, and she developed a habit of chewing her feathers. It is not an easy habit to break, but nearly a year later, she is making great improvement. From now on, she goes where her mom goes. She may be a very emotionally sensitive bird, but in other ways she is very confident, sweet and loving.

She is an absolute joy in her mom's life.
